Vampire Siege at Rio Muerto, the first novel length story featuring Monster Hunter Mordecai Slate, has gotten off to a good start. It debuted Nov. 10 as Amazon’s No. 1 Hot New Kindle Release in the western/horror category, and was No. 4 in its top 100 Kindle Best Sellers, Western/Horror.
VAMPIRE SIEGE AT RIO MUERTO HAS MOVED INTO THE NO. 3 POSITION ON AMAZON’S TOP 100 KINDLE HORROR BEST SELLERS! AMAZING.]
Not a bad beginning. It seems to be holding it’s own, still No. 1 in the Hot New Release list, two days later, slipping a bit in the best seller list. That’s to be expected. The lists are update hourly by Amazon so the sales rankings change continuously. There’s a lot of competition out there.
Thanks to everyone who has purchased a Kindle copy of the book. I hope you’ll spread the word. The best way to do that is write a review on Amazon.
This has been a very educational experience. And I’m sure there’s still more to be learned about self-publishing. But it’s been a good time so far. I wouldn’t be doing this if it wasn’t fun.
By the way, in case any of you are wondering where I got the idea to create Flying W Press, the idea comes from cowboy icon Gene Autry. When he moved from films to television in the 1950s he created his own production company, Flying A Productions. The Flying W Logo was created by my son J. Michael Whalen, who heads up Torasu Productions LLC. He also did the video trailer, which is a real knockout.
